Moving Abroad to the Netherlands

Moving abroad to the Netherlands announcement

Hej alla! It’s been way too long since I posted something. Master’s thesis, life and other priorities have taken all my time plus lack of motivation to finish all my drafts (I’ll get to it!). Most of all I really want to start blogging again more actively and reduce the pressure of writing only about travel and lifestyle tips (aka niching my blog). Still a few years ago I blogged about more personal things, but stopped that since I found it a bit boring. Now I want to start mixing things up again.

With personal things I definitely don’t mean you’ll have to read about what I buy in the store everyday (b-o-r-i-n-g) or about my life in detail, I’ll never go back to that. I mean a bit more personal or everyday life things than up until now.

So there’s one specific reason I want to start blogging about more personal things again – to keep my friends and family updated. The reason for this is because one of my 100 life goals is about to become reality. I’M MOVING ABROAD. (Again…).

I’ll leave Finland in 4 days for a full-time job in the Netherlands.

I still can’t really believe it and one never knows what’ll happen, but this is a chance, and a risk at the same time, that I’m willing to take to see where life will bring me next. And most important of all: it’s been my dream to move abroad since over 10 years back and the desire has become stronger and stronger over the past 6+ years. I’m overly excited, very scared, a lot in doubt, ridiculously happy and lucky – all at the same time. There’s clearly not only one feeling to describe it.

4 things that makes this time different than the previous moves abroad:
1) I don’t have an end date for it
2) I really don’t know when I’ll be back in Finland the next time (luckily it’s close)
3) My “real” adult life is about to start – no more student life
4) This is my move to settle in a new home (since Finland really isn’t for me for a lot of reasons – a blog post about that later)

There’s a lot of changes in front of me and I can’t wait to tackle all these new challenges, set in for a new daily life and start this new phase of my life. I will start my new job in a week and will get my room in Amsterdam in the end of July. Very exciting times and I can’t wait to see what happens and how life will turn out. However it does – it’s meant to be the way it goes.

xoxo, Jasmine
